A Role model for learning
Children look up to their parents and learn from them. You are their first teachers; teaching them how to walk and how to talk. You may have even have started teaching them how to count and how to read. And once your child begins going to school your early lessons with him can be developed further. Practice What Your Child is Learning in School
Going over with your children what they studied in school will help them retain the information. When you know that there is a certain topic your children may have difficulty with review it with them and help them understand it. At home your children will be at a more relaxed and comfortable environment which is good for remembering what they have learned. These different lessons can be reviewed at home with help from their parents to help them understand them better and be able to apply it.
Connect Learning To Their Everyday Lives
Learning occurs every day inside and outside of the classroom setting. While the school may take a more structured approach when it comes to learning, parents can take a more informal way of teaching. While walking with your children around town let them read signs aloud, ask them what colors the passing cars are. If your children are the type to keep asking questions try and give them answers and if you do not know the answer both of you can find it together. Let them see how much fun learning can be and no matter where you are there will always be an opportunity to lean.
