Kindergarten is the most crucial level in the development of your child. It is in this level that they sharpen the skills they learned at home and that they find new skills at school to be used at home and their everyday experiences. That is why we provide quality education through our childhood learning center in Bloomfield New Jersey.
Future Generation Early Learning Center advocates giving children the skills and knowledge they need in order to live serenely in the future, so that they can cope with the demands of the society. We believe that lifelong learning is what fuels us in our childhood learning center in Bloomfield New Jersey.
Before children learn the different academic disciplines when they grow up, they are taught the basic skills to think logically and do things creatively. Although these curious children are different from one another, we trust that they will be able to grasp the needed skills in order to serve as the foundation of their future academic track. There are specific cognitive milestones we look for in our young learners in their kindergarten years and these are:
Who would have thought that a simple organization of things would lead to a variety of useful skills like what scientists and researchers need when they classify objects and species? Categorizing objects goes all the way to children sorting out their toys according to colors, sizes or even texture. This even is supported by their abilities to compare the length, width and the capacity of two or more objects.
Counting ten or more objects
We all know that numbers are not only until 10 or 100. In fact, nobody could ever tell the last number in the line so that is why mathematicians coined the term and symbol of infinity. But we do know that the numbers 10 or 100 may be the last number when we were still half our size. Counting ten or more objects allows the child to grasp the idea that numbers are not abstract; they are just represented in numbers of ways! Just like finding the x in an Algebra problem.
Sticking to a project until its completion
In a world where output is greatly revered and teamwork appreciated, your child should be able to finish task by sticking onto it until its end. This is applicable in the working environment. Imagine having a co-worker or an employee who just jumps from one plan or activity to another therefore leaving a lot of unfinished stuff lying around the office. Would you want that guy or gal sticking around the workplace? Of course not! It is best to fire him or her in the nicest way possible. Do you want your child to keep job hunting because of that problem? We do not want that either. This is the reason why we need to teach this skill as much as possible in preschool.
Collecting things may sound like a weird hobby and that it may only give lots of problems in the house especially when the things your child find interesting to add in their collection are insects and other unsanitary things. Of course, there are consequences of learning but it is in these consequences that the child learns more. Also, not all acts of collecting objects is bad for you child’s wellbeing. This act or skill may even be handy when he or she wants to be a scientist or a historian in the future.
Identifying and even drawing objects
Drawing is not just for the artistic child as their way of expression. It provides a lot of advantages in the society and even helps in reinforcing learning. Teachers, doctors, engineers, politicians, the police, and many more professions lie on people’s skill in drawing. Drawing objects can also be useful in subjects like Math and Social Studies.
The skills you learn while you are in school and even at home are the very skills that make leaning fun and exciting every day. But before one learns new and essential skills, they must first learn the basics for without foundation, the whole infrastructure of knowledge will collapse. So we encourage you to enroll your child in kindergarten or in early childhood education. Not only will your child learn from the knowledge we present but also from the things their classmates teach them.
