Our Curriculum
The High Scope Educational Research Foundation in Ypsilanti, MI began to develop curriculum in the 1970’s. Today, High Scope is the early childhood curriculum of choice in 19 countries!
Future Generation fully implements the High Scope curriculum. We ensure that all of our educational settings use active participatory learning so that every child has a chance to succeed in life and contribute to society.
The tenets of the High Scope curriculum are as follows:
Children learn through hands on experiences with people, materials, events, and ideas.
Infants and toddlers are encouraged to discover the world around them by exploring and playing.
Children’s learning and development are anchored by long-term and trusting relationships with caregivers.
Adults help build upon daily experiences to ensure that developmental milestones are achieved.
We are intentional about relationships, trust, and learning. Families often tell us, ‘The minute I walked through the door, it felt like home.’ That experience reflects who we are — a community where children are safe, happy, and learning, and where families feel confident leaving their children in our care.
